About Bordertown
Bordertown is a small South Australian town located just near the Victorian border. When the railway was built in 1886, Bordertown became a major transport centre and today is a substantial and prosperous service centre. The surrounding farming areas are ideal for wool and wheat production and has extended its produce to vineyards, cattle and a variety of seeds and cereals. When visiting Bordertown be sure to see Australia’s longest serving Labour Prime Minister Bob Hawke’s Family Home and other Memorabilia. The Bordertown railway station, wildlife park, Clayton farm and agricultural museum are also must-see attractions.
